For a thousand years people have worshipped at
St. Bartholomew’s Church. The joy and love of God is the cornerstone of
our community, and you will find a warm welcome. We will soon be part of
an enlarged Anglican fellowship with churches in the Towcester benefice,
but the variety of services will be unchanged. From those who enjoy the
rich liturgy and tradition of Matins and the Book of Common Prayer to
those who are looking for livelier contemporary worship, St
Bartholomew’s has something to offer. We have a Sunday School, two lay
people training for Pastoral care and Evangelism, and an enthusiastic
team who want to take the message of the grace and love of God to the
community.
Services:
1st and 3rd Sunday of the
month – Holy Communion at 11:00, ASB.
Here the Eucharist is at the heart of the service, Sunday school and
refreshments at the end
2nd Sunday of the month
– Matins at 09:45 and Praise and Worship at 11:00. These services are
both lay led. The Praise and Worship service is a more informal act of
worship led by a worship group. Children are part of this service.
Refreshments at the end
4th Sunday of the month
– Book of Common Prayer at 08:00 and the Family service at 11:00. The
family service is very much centred on our children and family life,
with teaching and songs. Refreshments at the end.
Every Wednesday at 07:00
we have a group which meets for prayer in the church. An informal
gathering where we pray for God’s guidance for our church, its future,
its people, for our community and the wider world.
Every alternate Tuesday
a house group meets; these groups study the bible, discuss a wide
variety of topics and are a great place to learn more about Christianity
in an informal way.
Every Thursday
the bell ringers meet and are always pleased to
welcome new people.
